The Shreveport Anime Society (SAS) is an organization for anime fans in the Shreveport and Bossier City area of Louisiana. The society is dedicated to providing a fun, safe environment for anime fans of all ages to meet other fans and enjoy anime together. It is independent of any company, school, or other organization, and has its own officers which run the organization according to the wishes of its members. The society participates in many activities, including weekly viewings, video game tournaments, and other monthly events, the details of which can be found under the “Events” section of the website.
Goals:
The SAS is growing very quickly, and the officers are working hard to keep up. We have several events that we’d like to plan for the future, and our short-term goals include a skating party, a card game tournament, a large-scale video game tournament, and a Valentine’s Day formal masquerade. We’re in the process of getting the Manga/DVD library up and running, we have some changes we’d like to make to the website, and we would like to get a monthly newsletter running. Our ultimate goal, though, is to host a convention right here in Shreveport. We would like to run one in 2010, and are currently making plans to that end.
